Studio Dans Policies 2019-2020

 

 


1. TUITION PAYMENTS

Tuition is paid in 3 equal installments. Tuition is based on the total number of hours of instruction per week per student. Please check your family portal for complete tuition pricing information. Following online registration, an invoice for the registration fee and 1st tuition installment (with any multi-class discounts applied) will be emailed. Payment is due within 7 days of the email invoice. If the balance is not paid within 7 days of the invoice, an automated charge will be applied to the credit card on file for the amount due. If payment is declined, the space in the class will open up to other students until payment is made. Please note that there is a $15 fee for transferring/dropping a class.  

 

Additional tuition payments are due December 2nd, and March 2nd. Tuition is non-refundable and non-transferable. If payment is not received by the due date, an automated transaction will be applied to the credit card on file. If that payment is declined, any class discounts will be removed, and a $35 fee will be assessed. Late fees will continue to be applied every 30 days for fees not paid in full. A $35 fee will be charged for all returned checks and declined credit cards (no exceptions).
 

2. MINIMUM ENROLLMENT

Classes will be filled on a first come, first served basis. The minimum enrollment is six (6) students per class. If the minimum enrollment is not met, the class may be combined with a similar class or cancelled.
 

3. CLASS ETIQUETTE

All students are expected to be on time and dressed appropriately (see dress code). Students who do not adhere to the dress code will not be permitted to attend class. Dancers are expected to enter the studio respectfully and quietly and be physically and mentally prepared to dance. No food, drink or gum is allowed in the studios or dressing room. All students and parents are expected to treat fellow students and instructors with respect and not openly critique another dancer. Gross misconduct will not be tolerated.

 

4. ATTENDANCE/MAKE UP POLICY

Dance requires discipline and consistency. Students are expected to attend class every week. Students needing to miss class need to call or email the studio to inform the instructor. When a student misses a class, it not only hinders their performance, it hinders the overall progress and cohesiveness of the group. Make-up classes are available for absences due to illness or other personal reasons, however missed classes must be made up within one month and in a class of the same dance discipline, of equal or lower level. It is required to register for make-up classes at the front desk. Refunds are not given for missed classes.

 

5. CLASS WITHDRAWAL

Dancers are permitted to withdraw from classes with one month's notice until December 1, 2019. Please complete the drop/transfer request form on the Studio Dans website. After December 1, 2019, if a student withdraws from a class, the parent/guardian will remain responsible for the full annual tuition which will be due at time of withdrawal. Registration and tuition fees are non-refundable.
 

6. RECITAL

Dress Rehearsals are scheduled for June 7, June 11 & June 12, 2020. Recital Performances are scheduled for June 13 & 14, 2020. A Non-refundable recital fee is due by November 11, 2019. Costumes will not be ordered unless the fee is paid in full by the deadline. Costumes are ordered over the winter break. Any costumes that need to be ordered after this time frame will include a charge for expedited shipping and handling.
 

7. COMMUNICATION

Studio updates and announcements are emailed every Friday. It is imperative that all families have a current email on file to receive these emails. Please do not hesitate to contact the front desk if you have any questions. If you wish to contact an instructor, please leave a message with the front desk. Please do not try to discuss matters between or during class time.

 

8. INCLEMENT WEATHER

In the case of emergency closing/severe weather, a text message alert will be sent to all families who have opted-in to receive text messaging through their family portal (text message data rates may apply). You may also call the studio or check the Studio Dans Facebook page for cancellation information. Studio Dans does not follow Howard County School closings. Please do not feel obligated to travel to class if you are uncomfortable with the weather conditions.
 

9. DROP OFF/PICK UP

Students may not be dropped off at the Studio earlier than 15 minutes prior to class and must be picked up no later than 15 minutes following the class. For liability reasons, children under the age of 18 who are not attending class at Studio Dans are not permitted to be in the building unless accompanied by an adult. Students are not permitted to leave the studio without an adult.
 

10. PERMISSION TO USE PHOTOGRAPHS AND VIDEOS

Photographs and videos of students are taken throughout the year and may be used for purposes of marketing and promoting Studio Dans. Acceptance of these policies gives Studio Dans the use of these photographs and videos. 
 

11. WAIVER AND RELEASE OF CLAIMS

Parent/guardian and dancer recognize that all classes are taken at their sole risk. Studio Dans is not responsible for any loss or damage resulting from any property damage or personal injury arising out of or connected with the use of the facilities or participation in the classes or program.

 

12. FOOD POLICY AT STUDIO DANS

the studio is peanut-free. Many students have life-threatening allergies to peanut products, so adherence to this is mandatory for all. Additionally, food products are only allowed to be consumed in the lobby area, not the hallways or dressing room.
 

13. 2020 SUMMER CAMP POLICIES

  • Online registration begins Saturday, February 1, 2020, at 8:00am

  • Tuition:

    • $180/half day camp. Snack provided.

    • $370/full day Dance & Ballet Intensive camps. Lunch NOT provided but will be supervised.

    • Tuition is due in full at time of registration. In the event that you need to withdraw from a camp a $50 administration fee will apply. No refunds will be given if withdrawn after May 15, 2020.

  • A minimum of 6 children is required for a camp to run.

  • Camps will be filled on a first come, first serve basis. Studio Dans reserves the right to move students according to their age and ability.

  • Drop off /Pick up: Students may not be dropped off at the Studio any earlier than 15 minutes prior to camp. Students must be picked up no later than 15 minutes following the camp.

  • Studio Dans is a nut-free facility. Many of our students have life-threatening allergies to nut products. Adherence to this policy is mandatory for all.
